Emerald has a delicate internal structure. It is not fragile, but it is naturally more sensitive than harder stones like Sapphire. • Do: Clean gently with a soft cloth after wear. Use lukewarm water and a drop of mild soap occasionally. Store separately in a padded box to prevent knocks from harder stones. If professionally advised, light colourless oil maintenance may be done when appropriate.
• Avoid: Heat, steam, sudden temperature shifts, ultrasonic cleaning, harsh chemicals, perfumes, detergents, and alcohol-based products. Remove during gym sessions, heavy physical activity, or situations where impact is likely.
• On treatments: Light to moderate colourless oiling is a globally accepted and traditional practice for Emeralds, and it should always be fully disclosed on certification. What is never acceptable — and what we never carry — is heavy resin, polymer, wax, or glass filling disguised as quality. Visible oil seepage, suspicious clarity, or an unnaturally “perfect” appearance are all signs to look closer.
