These treatments are common in the global gemstone trade, but they must be disclosed clearly.

It is central to trust.

The Reality of Gemstone Treatments

The treatment landscape in gemstones is constantly evolving.

Almost every year, the trade witnesses new methods designed to improve the appearance, colour, clarity, or marketability of gemstones.

Some treatments are traditional, stable, and widely known.

Others are newer, harder to detect, and require deeper gemmological examination.

That is why treatment disclosure cannot be casual.

It requires experience, caution, careful sourcing, and independent laboratory verification wherever possible.

Our Approach

While sourcing our gemstones, we go to great lengths to avoid, identify, and detect treatments that may affect value, rarity, durability, or buyer suitability.

Nothing gives us more satisfaction than seeing a carefully selected gemstone come back certified as untreated, unheated, or free from major treatment by the independent laboratories we work with.

But where a treatment is present, we do not hide it.

We disclose it clearly, because the buyer deserves to know the truth before making a meaningful purchase.

No Vague Language

We do not hide behind vague phrases such as “industry-accepted treatment has been done.”

Such language may sound harmless, but it can conceal major differences.

For example, both heat treatment and diffusion treatment may be seen in sapphires.

But they can create a world of difference in value, rarity, durability, long-term care, and buyer suitability.

A heated sapphire and a diffused sapphire should not be spoken about as if they are the same.

They may both be gemstones, but they do not carry the same trade value, collector value, or astrological consideration.

Clear Disclosure

Every gemstone we list carries either independent third-party certification or clear gemmological disclosure regarding its treatment status.

Untreated gemstones are mentioned as untreated only when there is a proper basis to say so.

Heated, oiled, filled, glass-filled, dyed, diffused, resin-filled, or otherwise treated stones are disclosed for what they are.

Our product pages are never meant to be silent on treatment.

Because treatment affects value.

It affects rarity.

It affects durability.

It affects long-term care.

And for many buyers, it may also affect suitability and purpose.

Truth Before Marketing

A heated sapphire may still be beautiful.

An oiled emerald may still be meaningful.

A treated gemstone can still have emotional, aesthetic, or personal value.

But it should never be sold as something it is not.
